         IN MOSCOW IT WAS LAID THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR PARACLIMBING

 

 

From october 30th to november 3rd 2008 the representatives of IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) MARCO MARIA SCOLARIS, of FASI (Italian Federation of Sport Climbing) ARIANO AMICI and of SPEED ROCK COMMITTEE Valle di Daone ALESSANDRO TOGNI met in Moscow on the occasion of the Boulder and Speed Climbing World Cup last stage and for the preview of Paraclimbing, demonstrative competition for disabled people that is going to take place in Valle di Daone (Trentino-Italy) within Speed Rock 2009.

 

 

 

In Moscow they were presents two italian athles who participate in the World Cup:

 

GABRIEL MORONI (10^th place in boulder)

LUCAS PRETI (13^th place in speed an 14^th in boulder)

And two disabled athlets for Paraclimbing:

MAURIZIO MARSIGLI (artficial lower limb, silver medal)

ALESSANDRO CAUSINI (visually handicapped, bronze medal).

 

The russian meeting has been satisfing for all of them, both for having been given friendly reception and for having achieved good results in the organization of the happening.

 

They met with their great pleasure athlets who are friends of Speed Rock: Sergey Sinitsyn, Valentina Yurina, Evgeny Vaytsekhovsky, Edyta Ropek, Lucelia Blanco, Manuel Escobar, Maxim Stenkovoy... and many more...

 

For paraclimbing they met the athlets before the competition, set classes for each kind of disability, spectate the competition together with a very wide and warm public. Then all the athlets were awarded a certificate of attendance and winners were priced medals.

 

 

President Scolaris awarded also international committee members (Amici, Togni, Piratinsky) a medal.

 

The competition will take place for some athlets on the vertical official route of Speed Rock, and for some others on the easier Spiderkids route. To facilitate their ascent extra holds and special devices will be placed for sightless athlets.

 

As psycologial value of climbing for disabled people have been recognized for a long time, we would like to give every person the possibility for using our structures, even to those who are normally far from this sport. For this reason many local association for disabled people will be invited at the competition, in order to allow and promote their approach to climbing.
