TRENTO SPEED The World Cup in Duomo Square

Trentino will be protagonist in the climbing season 2009, as it has been in 2008, anyway. It is starting on april 25^th with "Trento Speed", the second stage of the speed climbing world cup 2009, which will precede the historic summer event "Speed Rock Valle di Daone", at its 9^th edition next august.

This year the two competition are going to have more than just a shared point, in fact Speed Rock Committee and its president Alessandro Togni are organizing both happenings, saving the Trento one after the "defaillance" of the previous organizatition.

Thanks to the institutional support of FASI and to the precious help offered by the "friends" of the Rock Master Arco Asd, Togni and Speed Rock Committee have been able to keep Trento in the "gotha" of world climbing.

The second stage of the World Cup will be part of Mountain Filmfestival, one of the most famous film show in the sector.

As for the program "Trento Speed" is starting on Friday 24^th with the athlets registration at 16.00 and the technical meeting at 18. On Saturday qualifications are beginning at 10.00 in Duomo Square, then in the afternoon, starting from 15.00, we could see the qualified athlets presentation, the quarter of finals (at 16.10), the semifinals (at 16.45), the female finals at 17.05 and the men finals at 17.15. Pricing is scheduled al 17.30.

A concentrated one-day program, that will be put off untill 26^th april in case it would rain on Saturday 25^th.

Meanwhile, although there are about 20 days to go before the competition, there already are the  first enterings, and there already are great names: the Pole Edyta Ropek, winner of the World Cup 2008, followed by the second and the third in 2008 ranking, the Ukrainian Olena Riepko and Svitlana Tuzhylina, we will also see the Venezuelan Lucelia Blanco and Rosmery Da Silva, winners of Trento Speed in 2006 and 2007.

For the men race they have already enter the Ukrainian Maksym Stenkovoy and Maksym Osipov, the Ungarian Csaba Komondi and the winner of Speed Rock 2008: the Pole Lukasz Swirk.

                                  It will be a day to be spent staring up.
